Bob Hartford is the home designer for
residences in Bingham Ridge. 30 years of experience in solar and
high efficiency building technique have resulted in the homes that
are presented in Bingham Ridge. An integral part of each plan is the
lot on which it is sited. Each location presents a unique challenge.
Substantial solar access for the active water and photovoltaic
systems needs to be guaranteed, while maintaining focus on a
gracious entry space and outdoor private living. Since our road
systems are rarely constructed to a true north/south grid pattern,
and with natural topography speaking its own voice, each residence
takes on characteristics that emphasize best building design in a
new way.
Finished, turn key residences that are for
sale in Bingham Ridge generally represent the most current evolution
of the design process, and in many cases, include elements learned
from earlier customized projects. New clients frequently bring fresh
ideas and needs, however, and many of our projects have been done on
a custom basis. The home customization process involves blending the
individual requirements of the client with building characteristics
used in a super efficient home. The ultimate result will be a home
that operates "behind the scenes" on a highly efficient level while
providing a comfortable and inviting living space for the homeowner.
Generally, the customization process involves
a review of our existing plan portfolio, visiting completed
projects, choosing a building lot, assessing the specific space
requirements of the client, and producing preliminary plans for
review. The preliminary plan process may require a couple of
iterations before it is ready for our builders to review. At that
time a detailed specification sheet is prepared, and an end sales
price is attached to the project. When everything in is in order,
Silverwood and our team building contractor will have the house
constructed and guide the homeowner through the process as it takes
place. When the home is complete and operative, moving day has
arrived !
